  • Deadline to submit articles for the next newsletter is April 20

Picnic

  • No date set. Ideas should be sent to Chris Thomas

Step Up Club

  • Joshua Academy has a new club
  • Incentives are to be changed this year
  • E mail address for the club is stepupclub@gmail.com
  • More logbooks will be needed this year

Toyota Spring Day 8k

  • May 3 many volunteers are needed for event plus two water stops
  • Possible guests include 8th District Congressman-IN Brad Ellsworth and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels
  • Need as many people to register as possible for this free event

Scholarship

  • No new applications received

Summer Track Program

  • Four dates have been set for the event (June 12 and 26. July 10 and 24)
  • Step Up Club will sponsor entire event @ $400.00 and its sign will be displayed

Special Events

  • Get Fit Walk April 26. Club will set the course and cones
  • Ri-Rahs Pub Runs first and third Wednesdays 6pm approved-15 people at first run-beginner runners and walkers are encouraged to attend

Grand Prix

  • Discussion on no cut off date. Possibly start when you join. Board approves if director Chad Hartmann approves (he was not in attendance)

Old Business

  • Otter 5k Run – need to organize asap and need another major sponsor
  • Sisters of the Nile race on the river front September 7- 6pm will be a card timed race.
  • CJ’s Bus looking for a location for a 2 mile race.
  • Henderson Baptist Church 3 mile race May 17. We act as advisers for $50.00
  • Chip Timing purchase – Important that we pursue to keep outside timing groups from coming into the area. We are looking for group to help with the financing which would buy them advertising at our races. The board is on record supporting this effort.
  • Important to continue to train a back up timing crew

 

New Business

  • Timing crew jackets were purchased and distributed to the crew.
  • Discussed having a Club Store. Agreed we need to review tax matters and approved if Treasurer Cedric Hustace is comfortable with this pursuit
  • Web site contract was renewed for 9 years at a cost of $135.00
