GERWC Meeting – September 12, 2007 – 6:00 PM

  • Minutes of the August 2007 meeting were read and approved
  • Financial report for August 2007 was read and approved

      Discussion followed concerning the low general checking account balance. It was suggested we      might want to include year to date or quarterly totals as well as monthly for tracking purposes.

Correspondence

·         YMCA ½ Marathon Expo will be held at the Vectren building downtown and GERWC will be allowed a free table. It was agreed new member signups will receive a club coffee mug. Water bottles will be given out. Gordon is filling slots for expo volunteers.

Race Timing

·         Corn Fest 5k in Morganfield Kentucky

·         Toyota September 15

·         Ellis Park Horsing Around 5k October 20

Race Management

  • Jinglebell 5k not yet confirmed. Still looking for a location
  • Thanksgiving 5k
  • Ellis Park Horsing Around 5k

Banquet

  • Bill Hussman has agreed to be director and we are searching for a guest speaker. Discussion.

Membership

  • Leveled off at 200 members. Many have been interested in the Grand Prix

Special Events

  • There will be a Pub Run September 19 from Ri Rahs. They will provide a food platter

Grand Prix

  • Event five added, 75 members participated. 100 have participated overall this year. 

Old Business

  • GERWC business cards will be ordered

New Business

  • Discussion concerning the loaning of club equipment. ALL persons who borrow any club equipment MUST sign the equipment rental form, which states they will replace it if is returned broken, etc. However, the issue of insurance for the equipment being was raised as well as charging a fee for renting it. These matters will be looked into and reported on at the October meeting.
  • A Director is needed for the New Years Eve Race. It was suggested one amount be charged for entry.
  • Bob Lauderdale suggested a donation for the annual grade school track meet at Bosse Field. A motion was made and carried for $200.00

 

Being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm
