Minutes of the July 2007 meeting were approved as presented
Financial report for August 2007 was approved as presented
Correspondence
- Ray
Rayl 5k will have to be relocated because Garvin Park
will be closed that day and the new date will be October 27 at 9:00 a.m.
- Middle
School Cross Country meets will be held at Helfrich Park,
then Highland,
and then USI.
- A
$510.00 check was written for the Ray Rayl Scholarship.
Race Timing
- Bob’s
Gym 5k will August 25 and computer timed
Race Management
- Volunteers
will be needed for the Bob’s Gym 5k August 25, 2007
- We
will time the Ellis Park 5k October 20, 2007
Web Page
- Discussed
the need for easier access to out website. A motion was made and carried
to purchase two domains for running and walking. Business cards and yard
signs were discussed.
Banquet
- Discussed
who to have as a speaker and the agreed upon date is February 2, 2008
Membership
- We
have leveled off at 200 members.
- There will be club brochures added to the
YMCA Triathlon packets.
Newsletter
- Working
on next issue.
Picnic – No
report
Step Up Club
- New
Clubs for this school year are Gentryville Indiana and Henderson Kentucky.
- Letters
will go out promoting the club.
Scholarship – No
report
Summer Track Program
1. The meets are
over and about 185 participated.
Special Events
- Pub
Run August 15 at Smitty’s Tavern
Grand Prix
- 49
club members are participating and results have been updated
New Business –
- Cedric
Hustace will have an Art Show at Barnes and Noble next year.
- Gordon
asked that he be allowed to time the Corn Fest 5k September 13 using the Split 8 timer, large
clock and card system baskets. Consensus was to approve.
- Approved
to time a race at Toyota
using Split
8 and clock only for the basic fee or
a donation
- Discussed
the need to begin finding a new club president as Gordon is stepping down
at the end of the year.
