according to member feedback.

his race in Washington Indiana be posted on the calendar and is seeking
advise on directing the race.

up membership efforts and there will be ongoing discussion on this subject.

at the Healthier Evansville expo table.

Picnic
1. Consensus of the board for the
picnic is August 6 at Wesselman Park 3:30 p.m.
Step Up Club
1. Plaza Park club is requesting
more hats, which are awards for meeting their goals, and books. We may
want to consider changing the incentives next year as it is getting very
expensive due to the size of the clubs.
2. The Toyota race is May 6 and
all Step Up club members are getting applications. This is a major fundraiser
for the club as we get $3.00 per participant for course management and
timing. Applications are available on our web site.
Scholarship
1. Forms have been sent to all area
high school counselors with a notice the deadline for submitting them is
March 30, 2006. Help will be needed to evaluate the applications.
Summer Track Program
1. There will be four dates this
year and volunteers are needed. Requests for funds have been sent to area
businesses and $100.00 has been pledged by Tri-State Runner. Gordon is
suggesting we attempt to expand this event.
Special Events
1. Need a director at this time
and a suggestion was made to designate different members to take charge
of each event and not leave it all to one person. Files are being kept
on all past events for reference.
New Business
1. Barb Cox will direct club promotion
activities. She outlined what she feels is needed including a higher profile
in the Evansville area and GERWC should be “the” source for running and
walking information. Discussion followed and we will revisit this issue
at the next meeting.
2. Gordon discussed an item called
Road I.D. It is a wrist/ankle band with a velcro closure that includes
the owner’s emergency information and are available in various types and
sizes.
3. Tri State Athletic Club has offered
the club a display table at the St Pat 5k March 18.
4. Changing locations for future
club meetings was discussed and it was suggested that members offer locations.
The April 12 meeting will be at Weinbach’s Café and those wishing
to eat should do so before the meeting start time of 6:00 p.m.
5. Discussion on combining all local
race director mailing lists and preserve it in one file that would be maintained
for the Evansville area. It was approved for Nick Tenbarge to go forward
with this project.
