Correspondence
- Gordon contacted by a
group in Louisville Kentucky wanting to start a walking club. He referred
the matter to Cedric Hustace.
Race Timing
- Bob’s Gym is asking the
GERWC to time a 5k event July 29. No action.
- Nick Tendbarge resigns
from timing duties and from the club
- Chad Hartmann offered
to be the new timing director. He stated he has previously committed to
timing the YMCA Triathlon and also does not want to be in charge of getting
volunteers for timing. The consensus of the Board was to approve Chad as
director with the above understandings. He will receive $.75 per finisher
for computer duties.
Scholarship
- Bill Hussmann presented
our two annual awards. First to Louis Stumph from Bosse High School. He
carried a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend USI. His parents stated they appreciate
all the GERWC does in the community. The second award went to Kelly Klem
from North Posey High School. She carried a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend
USI. Her parents stated she works very hard at all she does.
Web Page
- The site has had over
100,000 visitors. The Next newsletter is in the works.
Walkers Report
- Cedric stated he has contacted
the Louisville walkers interested in starting a club.
Membership
- Gordon will fill the directors
position vacated when Nick Tenbarge resigned. He stated we need to have
a membership display at all upcoming events.
Newsletter
- Material for the next
newsletter will be accepted up to early July. Chad will add a survey in
the next issue.
Picnic
- Becky Kiesel will be the
director for the annual picnic. Visit the web site for details.
Step Up Club
- The donation from Toyota
was welcomed. They enjoy helping the GERWC very much.
Summer Track Program
- Thursday June 15 will
be the first night and volunteers are needed.
Special Events
- Director still needed.
The first of three events held at Gilles Fitness with ten participants.
The next event is June 22 at the Gerst Haus and July 20 at Smitty’s Little
Tavern.
Otter’s 5k Race
- Becky Kiesel will be the
director. Details and parade permit are in the works.
Business from the floor
- The Mt Vernon 5k the club
timed had 61 participants and the director was pleased with our work.
- Chad Hartmann reports
the club’s old timing lap top is beyond repair. The consensus was to sell
it for scrap at a cost of $20.00
