was read and approved
Correspondence:
1. Letter from the YMCA concerning
a table at the half marathon expo. The information was forwarded to Ray
and Angela
Committee Reports:
Race Timing:
1. The card system was used
at the Petersburg 5k with 41 participants.
2. Judi Early has contacted
us about timing the Thanksgiving Day race. After discussion Bob Head agreed
to be GERWC director and we will time the race.
Web Site:
1. A button has been added directing
the user to a page with club pictures and other area events.
Banquet:
1. Bob Lauderdale volunteered to
check on availability of the SWIRCA building for the event. The date will
be the Saturday before the Super Bowl Sunday, one week prior or following
depending on availability.
Race Calendar:
1. Corrections made to the list
and Jerry updated us.
Newsletter:
1.
It was agreed all extras from the next issue would be used at the ½
marathon expo table.
Picnic:
1. Short discussion and follow up
to August picnic.
Step-Up Club:
1. Four new clubs-Plaza 50 kids,
Lincoln 20 kids, North Elementary 48 kids, and St Wendell. There is a total
of ten clubs.
Scholarship:
1. Ray Pritchett stated the GERWC
scholarship letters usually go out January 1. He will contact Joe Whelan
and follow up.
Old Business:
1. New Years Eve race permit approved
2. Saving account money ( $1158.84)
was moved to a 9 month EZ C.D. @ 2.25 % rate at Old National per previous
action of the board.
3. Ray and Angela will be in charge
of our table at the YMCA ½ marathon expo.
4. Ray Pritchett reports the club
had 4 radios in working condition as discussed in the previous meeting.
5. By unanimous vote and two abstentions
the club will move the newsletter to the web page effective January 1,
2006 and the printed version will be discontinued. A printed version from
the web site would be provided to those who request one.
6. Discussion concerning errors
made at the Jasper 5k. Motion made and carried to charge them $378.00 (½
the normal fee) as a compromise. Club officers will follow up with a letter
with our decision to Jasper race officials.
New Business:
1. New Years Eve race letters sent
to previous sponsors and so far Integra Bank, Bob Tenbarge Construction
and the Central Labor Council have agreed to renew.
2. Bob Lauderdale stated he thinks
there should be more co-ordination of races in the area and introduced
club member Joe Williams who gave the board some examples. Many events
are on the same date and no one makes money. After discussion, a motion
was made and carried to allow Joe Williams to act on behalf of the GERWC
and contact race directors and others in an effort to have more sharing

3. Bob Lauderdale stated the Evansville
Otter’s are interested in a Stadium 5k in 2006.
