2005
GERWC Annual Picnic
After
a stormy morning the temperature at the annual picnic at Wesselman Park
August 14 was hot and humid. About 45 people turned out for a good time,
food, and fun.
The extended
Tenbarge family brought most of the youngsters who enjoyed squirt guns,
blow bubbles and other fun. Did I mention it was hot and humid?
As for food,
we had huge chicken breasts, hot dogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings
while club members brought their favorite side dishes and desserts. However,
Gordon Benfield’s homemade apple pie had a Schnuck’s label on the container!
Go figure.
The annual horseshoe
tournament final match pitted Gordon Benfield and Ray Pritchett against
David Nichols and Beck Kiesel. After a hard fought battle, the Benfield/Pritchett
team prevailed and received the grand prize of two Eastland Mall gift certificates.
Congratulations.
Thanks to
all our volunteer’s; grills Todd Tucker, cooking, Jerry Walker and Bob
Head, coolers Roger Westerfield and David Nichols, photography Tom Anderson,
and horseshoe tournament Bob Head.
If you haven’t
been attending the annual picnic you are really missing out. Hope to see
